Pharmacist Staffing Agencies: Are They Right for You?
If you are interested in pursuing one or another or the different pharmacy careers that are in demand today, and if you have finished your appropriate course of pharmacy employment education and training, you may be wondering if a pharmacist staffing agency is right for you. Through this article you will be provided with some of the pros and cons associated with seeking employment through a pharmacist staffing agency.
In recent years, the number of pharmacist staffing agencies that have gone into business is significant. In most major cities today (and in many not so major locales) a pharmacist staffing agency can be found. The reason for the growing prevalence of pharmacy staffing agencies is based upon the fact that the demand for qualified men and women to take on pharmacist jobs of various types truly is significant. Because many pharmacies have been unable to fully staff their stores, these drug stores have had to turn to pharmacist staffing agencies to aid and assist in filling their needs.
On the plus side, by accessing the assistance of a pharmacy staffing agency, you should have no problem finding placement in one or another of the pharmacist jobs that likely will be available (provided you have obtained proper education and training, of course). Obviously, this is a significant benefit if you are in need of more immediate employment and do not have the time or the financial wherewithal to spend a time looking for pharmacy job opportunities without earning an income in the interim.
In addition to being able to find employment rather swiftly, when it comes to a pharmacist staffing agency you will also have an advocate on your side to assist you in finding a more suitable or long term pharmacy employment position. Even though you have been assigned to a position of pharmacy employment for the present time, you are not precluded from seeking alternative pharmacist employment through the pharmacist staffing agency. And, in many instances (and provided you follow the prescribed guidelines of the pharmacist staffing agency) a temporary position can evolved into a permanent position of pharmacist employment in the not too distant future.
On the negative side, when it comes to obtaining pharmacy employment through a pharmacist staffing agency, you may be paid as much in salary or wages than you would receive had you obtained pharmacy employment directly from the employer. Using a pharmacist staffing agency will result in your income being at least some degree lower than what you would receive via direct employment for comparable pharmacist jobs. However, the difference in pay ... if there will be one ... will be minimal and will not be for the long term.
