Automation: We have OmniCell dispensers in the ED and OR.

29 staff - 14 Pharmacist, (a half time Clinical Pharmacist, we have two Pharmacy Managers ) 15 Technicians

3 Pharmacies (hospital and 2 retail)

Annual RX budget is $11,500,000 for the 3 Pharmacies.

P&T Comm. Pharmacy Director is a voting member, the chairperson is a physician.

Reports to Vice President, Patient Care Services

Qualifications

• MINIMUM FIELD-OF-EXPERTISE: Pharmacy experience of at least five (5) years, demonstrating excellence in problem solving, critical thinking, collaboration, and supervisory leadership experience in a hospital pharmacy setting.Computer proficiency in various software programs including Microsoft Word.Member of a pharmacy professional organization.




• REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Current Pharmacist licensure in the State of Hawaii.




• PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Leadership ability, demonstrating excellence in interpersonal skills to effectively work with all levels of personnel to build an effective team. Interest and knowledge of current trends and new developments in pharmacology and health care.

Job Responsibilities

• POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Pharmacy is a registered Pharmacist who has 24-hour management responsibilities for Pharmaceutical Services including inpatient, outpatient, and the Retail Pharmacies, providing leadership in the implementation of services and operational aspects of Pharmacy, ensuring an on-going strategic plan that integrates staff and physician efforts in achieving cost-effective, outcome oriented, quality care.
