Director of Pharmacy Opportunity
3 years of Directorship experience preffered
Will need FL RPh and Consulting license before starting

We do not need someone who wants to come in and make a lot of changes. We have a good team now and they work well together.

Reports to VP Patient Care Services & Chief Nursing Officer
Pyxis dispensing cabinets on the floors, HMM computer system (McKesson)
PAR-X type of bar coding (not bedside coding)
Pyxis connects from the floors to the Pharmacy

The candidate needs to have excellent, finance, budgeting, purchasing and operations skills
At least three (3) years previous director experience in an acute setting
Needs Florida consulting license or willing to get it before they start

They will be supervising:
18 Clinical Staff Pharmacists (5 Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialists and 1 Board Certified Nutritional Support Therapy
16 Pharmacy Technicians (all certified)
1 Buyer
2 Managers (Operational and Clinical)

Services:

Inpatient antiocoagulation service
Outpatient Medication Management Clinic (Warfarin & Cholesterol)
Nutritional Support
Aminoglycoside/Vancomycin Dosing
Pain Management
Emergency Medicine
Operating Room pharmacy

We are decentralized with pharmacists on floor in the hospital including the ICU, Medical Cardiac, Emergency and OR

We have an accredited ASHP Postgraduate Year – 1 Pharmacy Practice Residency Program and currently take 40+ students per year from various colleges of Pharmacy


Qualifications

• Has background in administrative and consultant aspects of institutional Pharmacy and holds Consultant permit as required.




• Licensed as required by law for practice of Pharmacy by State of Florida.




• Experienced in hospital unit-dose dispensing system, I.V. additive program and computer necessary to continued success.
